Bugatti "Veyron 16.4 Super Sport" 2011 World Record Edition

Bugatti telah sukses menorehkan sejarahnya di tahun 2010 yang lalu. "Veyron 16.4 Super Sport" menjadi mobil produksi tercepat di dunia dalam sebuah pengujian di proving ground Volkswagen Group di Ehra-Lessien.

Laksana sebuah pesawat jet tempur yang siap terbang di udara, kecepatan maksimalnya 431 km/jam, maka Guineess Book Of Records akhirnya pun mengakuinya. Mobil sakti ini hanya diproduksi sebanyak 5 unit di dunia. Karena itulah, dia adalah "World Record Edition".

Tak ada yang berbeda antara 5 unit World Record Edition ciptaan Bugatti yang diuji di depan TUV. Karakteristik dua warna horisontal, serat karbon hitam dan jingga Arancio, menjadi suatu ciri khas miliknya.

Bugatti secara khusus mengganti warna logo di grill Veyron dengan sentuhan tulisan silver di atas latar hitam. Warna Arancio cukup kontras ditorehkan pada interior yang serba hitam.

Tidak sampai disitu saja, bahkan lebih menarik dari itu, pada center armrest juga turut dibordir gambar lintasan proving ground Ehra-Lessien dengan benang Arancio.

Dipersenjatai dengan mesin 8.0 liter 16 silinder, World Record Edition melepaskan tenaga raksasanya hingga 1.200 hp pada 6.400rpm dan torsi puncak 1.500 Nm pada 3.000-5.000rpm.

Melalui transmisi 7 speed DSG, supercar yang bengis ini pun tak perlu berlama-lama dalam mencapai kecepatan 100 km/jam, hanya butuh waktu 2,5 detik saja, dengan gaya lateral mencapai 1,4 g.

Damn, a Veyron running the Gumball, that's going to go through a lot of gas

When running full speed, the fuel lasts about 12 minutes, thats about 60 miles at about 250 mph, and few freeways are going to give that type of high speed opportunity, but this is a gas guzzling beast even if you half the speed (125mph) and double the distance and time before you have to fill up again.

Too bad they don't have the guts to factory make a good Barracuda, I don't give a damn that the "Plymouth" brand doesn't exist... the car would have nothing in common with real 67-71 Barracudas anyway, beside a few retro looking design touches.

The Bugatti Veyron is both the fastest and the most expensive car in the world. Whether or not Bugatti holds the top spot for long remains to be seen, but now that they've broken both of these records, there's sure to be some competition between themselves and other luxury and performance car makers.

Michelin produced the run-flat road tyres capable of surviving the 253 mph top speed, whilst silicon carbide reinforced carbon brakes and a huge rear spoiler, which acts as an airbrake above 124 mph, ensured that the Veyron could reach a standstill from 249 mph in just 10 seconds.
