Decorating With Pink

Yes, I love pink, pink, pink! I found a couple of images that share my love of pink. Some rooms have pink accents such as this beautiful dresser and some have pink walls and pink everything. This rooms wall color, Armagnac (TH56), Ralph Lauren.

Sweet Sisters Room

What a sweet, adorable girls room! Clever mom Lori Danelle used bolts and screws, 2-3 used shipping pallets and a set of caster wheels to make an eco friendly bed.

UPDATE: It's been brought to my attention that wood pallets can be infused with chemicals and pesticides. Yuck, yuck, yuck. So, having used pallets in the home is not an option. Maybe brand new ones....??

Shared Kids Rooms: Boy Girl Rooms

This A Bit of Sunshine room shows a closet-turned-crib-area for a baby girl (she shares the room with an older brother). Bold colors make this room pop! Room paint colors: Sprinkle (wall paint) and Tropical Bloom (behind crib): Valspar. Darling crib shelf  and doily banner.



Designing a boy girl shared room can be a challenge. When creating a space for both genders you will need to incorporate personalities, favorite things and probably favorite colors. Ideas/areas to consider when room-sharing:

Appeal: The room doesn't need to completely match - but does need to work aesthetically.

Colors: Some helpful color hints: reds, blues, greens and yellows work well for both sexes.

Personal and Shared Areas: It's important for each child to have their own zone: a bed, study desk (if needed) and chair. If you're short on room space, there are some areas that can be shared - dresser (own drawers), book shelf and possible window seat.

Here's showing the other side of the room - opposite the crib. Use a dresser instead of a nightstand next to the a bed - this saves on space and still provides the usefulness of a "nightstand" next to the bed.  Boys striped bedding
